    A trio of acclaimed musicians unite for a very special collaborative performance. Three-time Grammy Award-winning violinist Hilary Hahn is known for her expressive musicality and wide-ranging repertoire. She is joined by German baritone Matthias Goerne, widely regarded as one of today’s leading interpreters of German art song, and pianist Gloria Chien, who is praised for technical brilliance and artistry. Together, these internationally celebrated artists bring a dynamic program to the stage, including a new work by Indian-American composer Reena Esmail, co-commissioned by the UGA Performing Arts Center.* Part of American Panorama: Voices of a Nation at 250. *Co-commissioned by La Jolla Music Society, Los Angeles Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, Spivey Hall, University of California, Santa Barbara, and the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center. Join the audience for a free pre-performance talk by Patrick Castillo in Ramsey Concert Hall prior to the performance from 2:15-2:45 p.m. Castillo is a writer, composer, and former Vice President of Artistic Planning of the New York Philharmonic.

They’re joined by Meyer’s son, violinist George Meyer—a gifted musician forging his own distinctive path as an artist, bringing fresh perspective and voice to the stage while drawing from a remarkable musical legacy. The program features selections from the genre-defying Short Trip Home album as well as new music written specifically for this tour—blending bluegrass, classical, and beyond.     Over more than five decades, the Takács Quartet has risen to the very pinnacle of classical music, earning international acclaim for its artistry, precision, and depth of interpretation. Widely regarded as one of the finest string quartets in the United States, it has also been hailed as “probably the best string quartet on the planet” (The Age). Renowned for its vibrant performances, the ensemble returns to UGA with a compelling program featuring masterworks by Mozart and Brahms alongside American composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s evocative Quijotadas, blending tradition with contemporary brilliance. He has performed with virtually every major orchestra in the world, and regularly appears as a soloist, recitalist, chamber musician, conductor, and as the music director of London’s Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Bell has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, named “Instrumentalist of the Year” by Musical America, made an honorary CBE in Britain, selected as a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum, recognized with the Avery Fisher Prize, and honored as an “Indiana Living Legend.”
