The 2020 Thursday Scholarship Series will open with a Magical Piano Extravaganza featuring The Hugh Hodgwarts School of Piano Wizardry. Be ready to have your senses enchanted and ensnared by the University of Georgia piano faculty, along with students, special guests, and five flying grand pianos on the Hodgson Hall stage. From solo piano, to piano duets, to music for 5 pianos, the supernatural musical abilities of the distinguished UGA piano faculty and students will conjure selections by legendary composers, including the musical fairytales of Ravel and Prokofiev, spooky masterpieces by Saint-Saëns, and John William's Theme from Harry Potter. Acting as Master of Ceremonies, our very own head wizard, Pete Jutras, will take us through otherworldly realms on his magic carpet. The video premieres as part of University of Georgia's annual Spotlight on the Art's Festival.
