Each Maymester students from the Hugh Hodgson School of Music travel to Northern Italy for a unique musical and academic experience. Students stay in Alessandria where the Conservatorio Antonio Vivaldi is located within walking distance from the residences. Each day is filled with classes such as Italian music history, conducting, private music instruction with conservatory faculty members, as well as performances with Italian students and large and small ensembles. Excursions to Venice, Milan, conservatories in Parma and Torino happen throughout the month, and students have free weekends to explore everything the region has to offer!
