LSU A Cappella Choir
Monday, October 5, 8:30 PM EDTThe LSU A Cappella Choir, LSU’s flagship touring choir, opens the 26-27 season with with soaring choral works inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the promise of “Another glorious day.” From radiant harmonies that greet the morning to powerful musical portraits of forests, rivers, skies, and changing seasons, we invite our audience to reconnect with nature through song. Uplifting, exciting, and deeply moving, this opening program celebrates the joy of shared voices and the timeless inspiration found in the world around us. The concert features contemporary composer, Jake Runestad's "Come to the Woods" from his American Triptych.

Through music by Mahler, Fauré, Duparc, Santoliquido, and David N. Takach, mezzo-soprano Lindsay Kate Brown and pianist Dr. Jeong-Eun Lee follow a journey from heartbreak and imagined escape toward remembrance, transformation, and self-possession. Brown, Assistant Professor of Voice at LSU, and Lee, Assistant Professor of Collaborative Piano, bring together their shared commitment to expressive, text-centered collaboration.
