Video Symphony Orchestra
9-15-2026 11:13 pm - 11:13 pm (America/New_York)

In a rare and exciting collaboration, the LSU Symphony Orchestra and the Turner-Fischer Center for Opera join forces to present a special semi-staged peformance of Of Thee I Sing. As part of the celebration of American's 250th anniversary, this groundbreaking musical by George and Ira Gershwin returns to the spotlight with all the brilliance that made it the first musical to receive the Pulitzer Prize. WIth its irresistible score, sharp satire, and exuberant wit, Of Thee I Sing delights even as it lampoons the machinery of politics, ambition, and corruption. Proving its humor remains strikingly timely. A full program for this concert will be available at: https://lsu.edu/cmda/events/programs /// As part of LSU’s College of Music and Dramatic Arts, the LSU School of Music offers its students one of the nation’s most comprehensive music programs.
