The LSU A Cappella Choir, Chorale, Gospel Choir, and Tiger Glee Club present the Festival of Choirs. In this concert, these ensembles join a consortium of over fifty choral ensembles from around the United States to perform the world premiere of contemporary Tim Takach’s We Are Phoenix. The Earth has shown itself to be a powerful model of how to overcome obstacle through continual rebirth and evolution. Through poetry from multiple authors, We Are Phoenix illuminates the analogy between humans and our planet: we both suffer loss and devastation and yet rise again and again, becoming stronger each time.
