The Borns Jewish Studies Program presents the culminating concert of Memory Transformed: Materials of Heritage in Jewish Eastern European Life, featuring The Sway Machinery and The Immortal Khazntes. Bringing together musicians whose work engages deeply with Jewish musical traditions, the concert explores the continuing life and transformation of Eastern European Jewish music through contemporary performance. The concert concludes a full day of Memory Transformed programming at Indiana University Bloomington, including a symposium on Jewish cultural heritage and material culture, an afternoon reception at the Eskenazi Museum of Art, and guided museum tours.Free and open to the public.
