Repertoire and additional performers to be announcedAbout the ArtistIngrid Matthews teaches baroque violin in the Historical Performance Institute at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. She served previously as music director of the Seattle Baroque Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist, guest director, and concertmaster for leading early music ensembles including the New York Collegium, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, Ars Lyrica, Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra, Musica Angelica, The Bach Sinfonia, Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, and many others. She is also a member of San Francisco-based chamber ensemble Musica Pacifica and has held teaching residencies at the University of Southern California, University of Toronto, Oberlin College, Cornish College of the Arts, New England Conservatory, and others. First prizewinner in the 1989 Erwin Bodky International Competition for Early Music, Matthews herself has served as a juror for competitions such as the Maurice and Lillian Barbash International Bach Competition and the Indianapolis Early Music Competition. She has received high critical acclaim for her extensive discography; her recording of the Sonatas and Partitas for Unaccompanied Violin of J. S. Bach was named "top recommendation for this music...on either period or modern instruments" by American Record Guide, and her recording of Biagio Marini is included in the Norton Anthology of Music used by conservatories and universities worldwide.
